Valentino Rossi and the VR46 Academy riders enjoyed a day of private testing on the Mugello circuit.

After the pre-season “sprint” in Qatar, most of the MotoGP riders decided to return to their home countries to enjoy the last two “free” weeks before the competition. Everyone is still training for the first race and some have even driven on a circuit. This is the case of Valentino Rossi and his VR46 Academy, who took advantage of a day of training on the Mugello circuit. A day that they shared with their followers on social networks.

Last Wednesday, the VR46 Academy riders who race in MotoGP gathered at Mugello to ride production motorcycles. Valentino Rossi and Franco Morbidelli , with whom he begins this season at Petronas Yamaha SRT, rode their Yamaha YZF-R1. Pecco Bagnaia, official Ducati rider in 2021, and Luca marini , who is making his debut in the premier category, did the same at the helm of Ducati Panigale V4 S.

A good temperature and the sun accompanied the pilots throughout the day, during which a fall of Franco Morbidelli was to be deplored. Fortunately, the pilot suffered no damage and later wanted to share the moment with his followers on Instagram. “ Great training at Mugello, it’s such a fantastic circuit! Even if things don't go as planned », the Petronas Yamaha SRT rider wrote alongside the video of his crash.

Pecco Bagnaia a also wanted to share his training day with his followers on Instagram. » As always, riding the Mugello circuit is wonderful  » , he wrote on the social network. Alongside this message, the Ducati rider shared a photo gallery in which he can be seen at the controls of his Panigale V4 S.

Valentino Rossi also wanted to share this day with his followers. The Italian, with a nod to Robin Williams and his now legendary “Good morning, Vietnam”, used this quote to accompany the images of the day . « Hello, Mugellooo», he wrote on his Instagram profile.

This is how the VR46 Academy drivers spend their last days before the start of the season. In a few days they will travel to Qatar for the first race of the season. As has become a tradition, the desert of Qatar will host the opening event. Moreover, this year the second race will also take place with the same scenario, due to the mobility restrictions imposed by the current health situation.
