It’s a Maverick Vinales grumpy guy who went to enjoy his mid-season vacation. A first part of the campaign that he led to Mugello. But in three meetings, he was not only dispossessed of the championship lead, but, in addition, he lost his Yamaha at the start of the hostilities. And he gave his roadmap for the start of the school year: he wants to find this M1!
It's not like second in the championship, five points behind Marc Márquez which Maverick Vinales hoped to finish the first half of this year 2017. The newcomer, so dominant during the off-season and convincing during the first games, rather hoped for the place of leader and favorite. That time has eroded.
Analyzing the situation, the teammate Valentino Rossi sees two causes for its disappointment: the electronics and the chassis. On the first point, he states: “ we suffered during the last races and we touched the electronics. We lost power. With each race, I felt that I had less and less power and we need to find it again. We lost the thread and we have to go back to the basics from the start of the season with the same electronics. We changed too much during the last Grands Prix and we are not 100%, including in the wet. We need to regain our confidence from the beginning of the year ».
On the chassis which now fits Valentino Rossi, he comments… “ the new frame fits less with my riding style. But it’s a team decision. This is not a decision I make alone. We are a team and we must all go in the same direction. For the moment, I feel pretty good, but I insist, I was much better with the bike I had at the start of the season ».
