The championship starts almost from scratch after this Thai Grand Prix which brought together no less than five drivers in 40 points, three races from the goal. There are therefore 75 units still in play while the first two, leader Fabio Quartararo on Yamaha, and his challenger Pecco Bagnaia on Ducati, are only separated by two points. The outcome looks uncertain, but Marc Marquez has his idea on this one. Here's what an eight-time World Champion has to say about what lies ahead...

Marc Marquez finished fifth on Thailand Grand Prix contested on a wet Buriram track, and he had plenty of time during the 25 laps of the race to study the Ducati. First that of bagnaia, then that of John Zarco. So, when we ask him who he sees as the 2022 World Champion, which leads to a decision between Fabio Quartararo et Pecco Bagnaia he replies cleverly: “ I'm betting on Pecco's bike! ».

Marc Marquez: “ Ducati is Ducati, but Fabio is Fabio »

He adds : " Ducati is Ducati and as we see many Ducati riders are fast ". He also specifies: “ but Fabio is Fabio. Fabio drives very well. Its weak point may be in the rain, but it will be interesting to see on the track… I don't want to bet on a driver! ". On the other hand, betting on Ducati extends the field of vision… This year, Ducati won 11 of 17 Grand Prix of the season: 6 with Bagnaia, 4 with Enea Bastianini and 1 with Jack Miller. Quarterly only won three times with Yamaha.

But what also says Marc Marquez is that there is in fact three pilots Ducati vying for the crown. bagnaia, of course, but also bastianini 39 points behind the French title holder and Miller who now only regrets a length of delay on the Italian who is just ahead of him. A scenario which will inevitably whet appetites, because not everyone adheres to a diet as drastic as Johann zarco…The next Australian Grand Prix, home of Jack Miller will be interesting to follow…
