Germany Fabio Quartararo

Fabio Quartararo is preparing to bounce back at the Misano Grand Prix, after a complicated but encouraging weekend at Aragon. The thirteenth round of the 2024 MotoGP championship will take place at a special circuit for the French rider, currently 15th in the general classification. Misano holds a special place in Quartararo's heart, as it is where he won his MotoGP world championship title in 2021. His Yamaha YZR-M1 has performed well at this track in the past, as evidenced by his two second places in 2019 and 2021 at the San Marino Grand Prix.

« After Aragon we move to Misano » comments the Frenchman. “ We did some testing here recently, and the pace was decent.. What didn't go so well was the attack against the clock, so I hope that will be a crucial point. But let's see what we can do this weekend. More bikes on the track means more rubber on the ground, and that could work to our advantage. »

With the recent difficulties encountered, Quarterly hopes to benefit from private trials carried out at Misano to fine-tune the settings of his bike and maximize its performance on this familiar track.

'O teste de Misano foi bom no ritmo, mas um disaster no attack ao cronómetro' – Fabio Quartararo

The track of the last Yamaha tests at Misano no longer holds any secrets for Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins

For his part, his teammate alex rins hopes to progress as well. Currently 20th in the championship standings, Kidneys arrives at Misano with high expectations. He already has a good track record on this track, especially with three podiums : two victories in Moto3 in 2013 and 2014, and a second place in Moto2 in 2016. His best result in MotoGP dates back to 2018 with a fourth instead.

« The Aragon race was a good boost, but It was difficult to properly assess the new elements due to the low level of grip of the new asphalt » recalls the Spaniard. “ That's why it's positive that we have another Grand Prix at Misano, where we did private tests. I hope this weekend I can feel the difference more and make progress. I can't wait to see what we can do! »

Both, Quarterly et Kidneys, are hoping to use this race to relaunch their season and aim for better performances as the 2024 MotoGP season enters its final phase.
