Yesterday afternoon, during the MotoGP test held at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, Fabio Quartararo waited until the last hour to respond to the attack of Cal Crutchlow who had seized the new circuit record in driving 8 hundredths faster than the French driver's pole position of 1'36.880 during the Spanish Grand Prix (see here).
Benefiting from a track well erased by the MotoGP race the day before, The Devil had previously focused his work on the fork, settings and geometry of his Yamaha YZR-M1 on hard tires, with a best time of 1'37.101 already putting him at the top of the rankings around 12:30 p.m.
Around 17:15 p.m., however, the Frenchman's hegemony and record were then undermined by Cal Crutchlow in 1'36.797.

fabio quartararo : “All the frustration yesterday was made up for by the excellent day of testing we had today. We tried several different setups and a new front fork. The results were very positive and we will continue to study the issue in the future. We also managed to find a very good pace on used tires and we worked on the hard compound for many laps.”
“At the end of the day, we tried an attack on the clock and it went very well. It was the first time that the grip was so good on this track. On my last three laps, I was at the limit and I saw that I couldn't improve much further, with three times in the 1m36s. I am very satisfied with the work we have accomplished and I would like to thank the entire team. I can’t wait to arrive at Le Mans, my home Grand Prix, and continue enjoying the bike.”
