Fabio Quartararo is ready to fight his way back to the top with Yamaha in MotoGP, and several recent developments have led to hopes of a revival for the Japanese brand. Yamaha is taking a bold step forward with the development of a V4 engine, a departure from their traditional inline-four concept, and a strategic collaboration with the Pramac Racing team. Both of these elements will be key to realising Quartararo's ambitions of returning Yamaha to the top after winning the world title in 2021.

Lynn Jarvis, Director of Yamaha , confirmed that the project V4 has been running since the Misano Grand Prix weekend, and that Yamaha is working on building an all-new bike to accommodate this engine setup. In an interview with Speedweek, Massimo Bartolini, technical manager, indicated that the project is still in the start-up phase, but that Yamaha has big ambitions.

To Quarterly, this decision is excellent news, because it could mean a big leap forward for Yamaha . " The test team will be responsible for working on V4. Once we try this engine for the first time, I will know if we are on the right track.. This is an important project for Yamaha, and I am confident that we will take a significant step forward., " said Quarterly during an interview with ServusTV.

Collaboration with Pramac, which will begin in 2025, also represents a turning point. Quarterly considers this team not as a simple satellite team, but as an extension of the factory team.

Fabio Quartararo: “ For me, Pramac is not a private team, it is an extension of the factory team »

He also stressed the importance of this relationship: " We talked a lot with Pramac and Paolo Campinoti. I have a special relationship with Paolo. I don't want to call it a private team, because only the colours and sponsors will be different. For me it's an extension of the factory team.,” he said.

The reinforcement of experienced pilots such as Jack Miller et Miguel Oliveira within the team Pramac will be an additional asset for Yamaha . Quartararo sees this configuration as an opportunity to compete with the strike force of Ducati, which already benefits from a network of four identical motorcycles. It will be great to also have on board experienced drivers like Jack and Miguel, who have experience at KTM, Aprilia and Ducati. They will bring valuable perspectives to develop Yamaha, " he added.

fabio quartararo is ready to take on this challenge with Yamaha , and these initiatives seem aligned with his vision. With the V4 engine under development and strategic collaboration with Pramac, he hopes that these new elements will allow Yamaha to become a formidable competitor on the grid again MotoGP.
