Fermin Aldeguer

Toprak Razgatlioglu's MotoGP future isn't just about his sporting ambitions: a strange battle is already brewing... for his lucky number! The reigning World Superbike (WSBK) champion wants to keep his legendary number 54. The problem: this number is already worn by Fermin Aldeguer, 2025 rookie at Gresini Ducati, and there's no question of him giving it up without a discussion.

In an interview for motogp.com, Aldeguer launched the first salvo with humor: " He has the 54, but now it's mine. If he wants it, he'll have to pay dearly! »

A little dig sent in good humor to his future opponent, who was quick to respond. Toprak Razgatlioglu, still relaxed, replied: " We can discuss this calmly around a table, my friend. I hope you are ready to negotiate. »

This kind of situation is not new in the universe. MotoGPWe remember the “duel” between Peter Acosta et Augusto Fernandez about the number 37The two former Moto2 teammates wanted the same number. Fernandez, who arrived a year earlier in MotoGP, had logically kept the priority. Acosta had therefore turned to the 31, a clever wink since the 1 had the shape of a 7.

Toprak Razgatlioglu or Fermin Aldeguer: who will keep the 54?

Since Fernandez took up his role as test pilot at Yamaha , Acosta jumped at the chance to take over the 37 in 2025. An example that proves that sometimes, time does things well.

The situation therefore remains open between Aldeguer et RazgatliogluThe Turk will have to choose between negotiating, changing his number, or opting for a symbolic wink. And Aldeguer, for his part, seems determined to keep his, barring any surprises. Perhaps this friendly joust will give rise to a humorous video sequence during the next official presentations.

This duel of numbers already sets the mood even before the two drivers share the track...
