The 2024 French Grand Prix at Le Mans will go down in history, not only for the exceptional series of performances on the track but also for breaking the attendance record for a MotoGP weekend. In total, 297.471 spectators converged on the circuit to follow the prowess of Jorge Martin, Marc Marquez, and Pecco Bagnaia while supporting compatriots Johann Zarco and Fabio Quartararo with full force and gestures.

The competition started with 86 fans on Thursday and Friday, suggesting a promising weekend. Saturday, day of qualifications and racing sprint, saw its attendance climb to 92 003 spectators. However, it was Sunday which left its mark with a record attendance of 119 145 people, coming to support their champions and witness the victory of Martin and the spectacular comeback of Marquez.

This total figure of almost 300 000 visitors over three days far exceeds the previous record of 278 805 people established last year, thus consolidating Le Mans as one of the essential meetings on the MotoGP calendar, well ahead of that of Jerez which brought together 181 289 people this year.

The French Grand Prix shows how to organize and experience a MotoGP weekend

The introduction of the Thursday count in official statistics has sparked some debate, slightly modifying the traditional method which excluded this day. Nevertheless, these historic figures demonstrate the undeniable appeal of the event, despite the lack of victory for local drivers.

fabio quartararo, the French hope, suffered a disappointment after an early fall, while Johann zarco finished in a modest twelfth place. Despite these setbacks, the enthusiasm and passion of the fans did not waver, closing this French Grand Prix on an exceptional note, as spectacular on the track as off it. You, in the stands and Claude Michy with his team, you not only did better than everyone else on the calendar MotoGP. First of all, you showed them how to do it. Respect.
