Brad Binder is not having a fantastic start to the season, and this is confirmed again in France. On the Bugatti circuit, the South African failed to make it into Q2, and crashed in a very strange way during the Sprint. However, at the time of his error at Chemin aux Boeufs, Binder was fighting with his teammates Pedro Acosta and Maverick Vinales, which is a rather good sign. The problem is that his relatively low points average is dropping again and again.
The slow motion didn't provide much more information, as Binder's fall was completely incomprehensible. It was a kind of forward highside, very strange. « I locked the front, and as soon as I took the brake, it locked and the wheel remained closed when it usually does., I manage to come back straight. But not this time, and it's really a shame because I fought well. I suffered the most bizarre fall of my career during this Sprint" he told us after this disappointment.

As usual, qualifying is a handicap for him. He's only made it out of Q1 once this season. That's too few for a driver of his caliber, and very frustrating at the same time. At Le Mans, he missed out by 11 thousandths of a second. « It's a shame to miss out in Q2 and the Sprint. The feeling is good, I think I can push. Tomorrow is another day.r. » he added.

The feeling is there, so it's not all doom and gloom. The KTMs may not be at the same level as the Ducatis, but they seem comfortably ahead of the Aprilias, who are struggling a lot on the Le Mans track. Binder has hope for tomorrow. « I think I can stay with Acosta and Vinales during the race on SundayThe problem is that Q1 cost me a lot, but I think that even from 13th position I can be dangerous » concluded the lift specialist.
