Alex Rins

While Fabio Quartararo is having a more than decent weekend at Le Mans, his teammate Alex Rins is still struggling. Qualified 16th, without being able to progress to Q2, he was not even able to try to take advantage of his multiple talents that we know so well. A potentially treacherous fall, which occurred without warning, knocked him to the ground. Is he heading towards another blank weekend, after several consecutive disappointments? Clearly, Rins seems far from the solution to making the YZR-M1 work, but he is not giving up.

Not the best Saturday for Alex Rins on the Sarthe side. This somewhat strange fall from the front costs him a lot. « I'm fine, but it was quite strange because I didn't have any warning before I fell. I would like to say that these things happen when you push 100%. I had Alex Marquez in front of me, even though Morbidelli was there at the time, and I was riding well » he declared at the end of this Sprint.

For this test of reduced duration, he had allowed himself a small gamble which could have paid off; fit tires that have never been used before. « We had fitted the hard tires specifically for the Sprint race as we had not had the opportunity to try it before, and it wasn't so bad. I felt comfortable, but I lost the front” he assured shortly after his error.

What can we do, apart from remotivating the troops and trying, as best we can, to find solutions to these recurring problems? Already yesterday, Rins seemed unable to make his tuning fork machine work better. “It’s frustrating but we continue to look forward” he concluded.

Do you think Alex Rins is capable of a miracle tomorrow from such a remote place? Tell us in the comments!
