Marc Marquez

It's a Marc Marquez, still resigned and forced to deal with current affairs, who has finished in this French Grand Prix, the seventh round of a season which risks being long at Honda... The eight-time World Champion does not no longer has the arm of yesteryear to lift the mountains of yesteryear and he says it openly. We could detect a certain weariness in his post-race comments. That's how it is, and he makes no excuses, taking his share of responsibility for this new failure for Honda in MotoGP. Unless there is a miracle?

Marc Marquez did not initially address this Grand Prix of France in the best conditions : " during the warm-up, I didn't feel well, my arm hurt and I was cold too. but it wouldn't have changed much, I'm not looking for an excuse he says. " It's racing, I said to myself, and it was like Portimao: a solid race, nothing crazy. As I said our position is between 5 and 7 that's our objective and I already knew that I would have difficulty here at Le Mans. I finished 6e, but without the fall of Bagnaia and the Suzuki I would have finished 9th and far from the leaders ».

Marc Márquez ahead of Zarco (5), Quartz Tarar (20), Nakagami (30) and Bezzecchi (72)

Marc Marquez: “ I don't ride the way I like«

He adds : " my rhythm was not good and I was not able to take the step forward I had hoped for. The only solution would have been rain but in the end it remained dry. It was our race. Our time will certainly come… I couldn't go any faster when Zarco passed me, I couldn't follow him I went wide. We just don't have the speed we have to understand a lot about the bike and my riding style because now I'm not riding the way I like. We have to take a step forward but I have to do it too because I'm not riding well. The problem is that we lack ideas in the box and we don't have any other parts. I remain the fastest Honda but that is not my goal ».

Marc Marquez finished : " maybe I could have finished in front of Zarco but taking too many risks and crashing were high. In the end, it went as planned : we had a good race, took risks in the first laps then I set my pace ". With this race report, those who want to continue their career under the Repsol Honda awning know what awaits them…
