MotoGP France Sprint, Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha/AB): "we have a limiter in 2nd 3rd 4th and so we get dropped a little, it's difficult to hold the throttle fully"

Fabio Quartararo experienced desolation on his land of France this Saturday at Le Mans. Left in Q1, he started only 13th for the national Sprint and he managed to get into the points in the last part of an event which could therefore bring him some consolation. The ace ! Wanting to do even better, he twisted his Yamaha once too much a little too hard to find himself on the ground and plunging the noisy track of the Bugatti into a short silence. fabio quartararo begins his intervention with this statement: “ I tried everything but unfortunately it wasn't what I expected. The speed was there, but there you go, I tried to push my limits a little more. We still have the same problems at the front where I can't really brake as usual, especially on a site like this. This is where I could make a difference.”

He adds : " I saw a few riders ahead of me so I could see where I was gaining time. I said to myself I'll try and see what happens but unfortunately that’s how it happened. We will have to find a solution ». Then he makes this mention: “ the start was good, unfortunately we have a rev limiter in 2nd 3rd 4^e, so you get dropped a little bit until the first corner and after, which is bad. The others arrive more quickly and we are already on course for the first turn and even if we no longer arrive slowly it is difficult to hold the throttle at full throttle for another 15 meters ».

« Afterwards I made the choice, from the first to the 2nd turn, to be on the inside and 2 or 3 drivers passed me on the outside, but otherwise the start was good but it's the lack of power we have on the 2nd 3rd 4th gears that penalizes us ». He specifies : " I decided not to get angry about it anymore because now this is the situation we are in. Unfortunately I have a I have a winning mentality, but here we are unable to fight for the podium. I know that even if I managed to do a very good ride just before falling we did that… But for now I'd rather try to fight than settle for tenth place ».
