Last Wednesday the presentation of the Aruba Ducati Superbike team took place. As director of Ducati Corse, Gigi Dall'Igna was of course present and also spoke about the continuation of the MotoGP program of the Borgo Panigale firm.

The Italian engineer commented on the recent Sepang tests, where Lorenzo set a new track record with the pre-GP18.

Gigi Dall'Igna: “Lorenzo has improved since last year's Brno Grand Prix and could have already won, but the only thing stopping him was less than perfect race management. He already had the speed to do well and so he didn't just do everything at once at Sepang, it was a progression that he made with us, and we with him. I believe we have given him everything he needs to reach his potential; we will see.

This is only the first test. This is important, of course, but it cannot be considered a litmus test for the entire championship. In fact, in recent years those who have been fast at Sepang have not been able to reproduce the same results during the season. It's always better to start well, but we still have two tests to make finer adjustments to the bike, sometimes significant, like with the new fairing that we will bring to Thailand. We will focus on aerodynamics in the next test, but not only that.
We will also have new chassis elements, ideas that brought positive results during simulations. We have some ingredients to mix together in the pot, and we’ll see what comes out.”

The trials in Buriram will take place from Friday February 16 to Sunday February 18.

Question (to which we do not yet have an answer): “what happened to the prototype seen in Valencia ? "
