The life of a rider at Ducati has sometimes been marked by controversy. Casey Stoner enjoyed a prosperous period before the story ended in a fishtail. The case Jorge Lorenzo also had its ups and downs before ending with a tune of “I love you neither”. Meanwhile, the Red Army showed little evidence of its ability to manage tensions among its pilots. But the master on board Gigi Dall'Igna sheds another light on the subject. Positive, that goes without saying.

In 2019, the Ducati troops will be organized as follows: factory team: Andrea Dovizioso (THE), Danilo Petrucci (I). Alma Pramac: Jack Miller (AUS), Francis Bagnaia (I). Real Avintia: Tito Rabat (E), Karel Abraham (CZ). The best consideration will be given to the first four cited. And everything will be done around a driver with now recognized authority: the double vice-world champion Andrea Dovizioso.

Gigi Dall'Igna explain : " Dovi is our anchor, he has won a lot for us over the last three years. He is the driver with whom we can imagine winning the world championship. To achieve this goal, we will do our best ". He will have a new teammate, Danilo Petrucci, expected so as not to overshadow him: “ we know what he can do and we have seen him evolve over the last few years. This season he had some difficulties at the end, but we are sure that he can progress and fight for the victories and the podium next year ».

And then there is the case bagnaia which illustrates Ducati's approach to its riders: “ the Moto2 world champion, Francesco Bagnaia, comes to us. I would like to point out that we treat new drivers differently from other manufacturers. We have technicians who go from the factory to the Pramac team and vice versa. This is how we ensure driver consistency. Danilo brings his chief mechanic and electronics engineer from Pramac to the factory team. Bagnaia receives in return the chief mechanic and electronics engineer of Jorge Lorenzo. This shows how important it is for Ducati that new riders can develop ».
