After a successful 2024 season with Ducati, Pramac Racing and Gino Borsoi begin a new chapter with Yamaha. This transition, marked by the departure of Jorge Martin and the arrival of Miguel Oliveira and Jack Miller, has taken place in a context of great changes and strong emotions.

After twenty years of collaboration with Ducati, Pramac Racing crowned its relationship by winning the MotoGP World Championship with George Martin. But while the celebrations marking this exceptional achievement are in full swing, the team is already beginning a new chapter in its history: its partnership with Yamaha racing for the 2025 season.

Last Sunday, Pramac Racing experienced an emotional roller coaster at Circuit de Catalunya. The tension of the decisive race for the title, where George Martin sealed his championship crown, turned into effervescent celebrations after the finish line. But these festivities were also marked by farewells, with the "Martinator" leaving the team to join Aprilia after three successful years.

The next day, the tone changed: Yamaha Racing, which is entering into a partnership with Pramac, has integrated four new M1s into the team's pits. This transfer marks a major milestone in the history of Pramac, which will now have to adapt to the technology and working methods of the Japanese manufacturer.

The team leader Gino Borsoi described this moment as a real challenge: “ We have an impressive structure that must learn to work together. We want to keep the same mentality that we had with Ducati, because it can bring a lot to Yamaha. »

The beginnings on Yamaha de Miguel Oliveira et Jack Miller, the team's two new drivers, also made their mark on this test. Olive tree freely shared his impressions, while Miller, still under contract with KTM, remained more discreet. Despite this, the two pilots contributed to laying the foundations for the future of Pramac with over 130 laps each.

Gino Borsoi: “ We have a lot of ideas and experience to bring to Yamaha »

However, Borsoi clarified that lap time was not the priority: " we didn't even look at the times. This test was dedicated to establishing processes and link building »

Despite the enthusiasm and energy deployed by Yamaha et Pramac, Borsoi acknowledges that it will take time to turn this collaboration into a success: " We have a lot of ideas and experience to bring to Yamaha, but It will take us more than a few months. Winter will be crucial to lay solid foundations and aim for a good start in Malaysia. »

The massive presence of Yamaha during the tests impressed, with no less than ten motorcycles used between regular drivers Fabio Quartararo, alex rins, and the newcomers Olive tree et Miller. Borsoi said to himself: positively exceeded » by this first collaboration.

While Pramac turns the page on its historic collaboration with ducati, the first steps with Yamaha are taking place under good auspices. With solid experience, a talented duo of drivers and a manufacturer determined to return to the top, Pramac Racing begins a new era full of promise.

To Gino Borsoi and his team, one thing is certain: the winter will be intense, but the future looks bright. After this historic transition, the team leader sums up with humor: " Now I need at least a week of vacation »
