During his courageous race at Silverstone despite his two fractured vertebrae not being completely repaired, Jorge Lorenzo thought he would finish last due to his pain and his lack of training, but he managed to obtain a fine fourteenth place ahead of Karel Abraham, Tito Rabat and Takaaki Nakagami.

Subsequently, Lorenzo did the best he could by participating in the tests on August 29 and 30 in Misano, but more precisely only on the 29th because he decided in agreement with his team not to force too much by ending his tests prematurely before their term.

He took the opportunity to get used to the Honda on the Misano circuit and adjust it, in order to be able to defend his chances on this track where he has a fine track record: 3 MotoGP victories and 4 pole positions, plus the absolute circuit record (on Ducati).

For his 290th Grand Prix, the 196th in the MotoGP category, Jorge will be aiming for his 69th victory this weekend, the 48th in 1000.

This season was disastrous for the Majorcan, with his best result being eleventh place at Le Mans. Five Grands Prix followed without a single point, and it was only in England that Lorenzo was able to make his comeback, in difficult conditions. It will certainly be a little less painful for him in Misano, but we should not expect miracles.

According to Jorge Lorenzo, who are " Every day I feel stronger and able to train more intensely than the day before. The time between races helped me. I can't wait to get back on the bike and see how I feel physically on the RC213V.

“Although we haven't completed the full test, we were able to find some good information to start the weekend off right. In the past, Misano has been a good circuit for me and I hope this weekend we can continue to close the gap.”
