The leader of the World Championship is fast approaching his 200 Grands Prix and this weekend in Misano will be the 198th world event that the man from Cervera will compete in, who will aim for his 77th victory on this occasion (the 51st in MotoGP ) and his 127th podium (the 88th in MotoGP).
Márquez has won five times on this circuit in three categories: once in 125 cc (in 3), twice in Moto2010 (2 and 2011) as well as in MotoGP (2012 and 2015).
In the World Championship, Marc is well ahead with a lead of 78 points over his immediate pursuer. Andrea Dovizioso, while there will then remain six Grands Prix to contest before the end of the 2019 season.
Since the start of the year, Márquez has won 6 out of 12 races, finished second 5 times and retired only once in Austin. He achieved eight pole positions, compared to three fabio quartararo and one to Maverick Vinales.
During the tests which took place in Misano on August 29 and 30, Marc mainly worked on the choices concerning the 2020 Honda, not seeking to achieve a fast timed lap on this occasion. He ranked tenth, 1.266 behind “El Diablo” Quartararo.
According to Marc Márquez, who are " We arrive at Misano in a good way after some strong races for us and after a productive test. During testing we were able to try a lot of things and get a good understanding of how the Honda works at Misano this season.
“I am confident for the weekend, but we will face strong opposition as always, especially after testing. Our approach doesn’t change, we have our own plan and we will work on it and see what happens on Sunday.”
