It was during his third Grand Prix contested in the Moto3 category in Valencia that the Australian managed to achieve a superb victory on the Ricardo Tormo Circuit ahead of Isaac Viñales and Álex Rins.
He was then riding for the Red Bull KTM Ajo team and had to cede the world title at this last Grand Prix of the year by 2 points (278 to 276) to Álex Rins who was then riding a Honda for the Estrella team. Galicia 0,0. Ultimately, Miller made a good move because Honda recruited him directly to move to MotoGP, avoiding him having to go through the Moto2 category.
The Australian developed his career by moving from Honda to Ducati, with this track record on the Ricardo Tormo Circuit:
Jack's World Championship results in Valencia:
2018 (MotoGP): qualified 10th, did not finish
2017 (MotoGP): qualified 12th, finished 7th
2016 (MotoGP): qualified 15th, 15th at the finish
2015 (MotoGP): qualified 20th, 21th at the finish
2014 (Moto3): qualified 2nd, vainqueur
2013 (Moto3): qualified 5th, did not finish
2012 (Moto3): qualified 25th, did not finish
2011 (125 cc): qualified 12th, did not finish
Jack is quite satisfied with his year overall: “In my first season on a factory Ducati, I have been on the podium four times for Pramac Ducati, and I arrive at the last race of the season in Valencia this weekend well established in the top 10 of the standings in eighth position with 149 points. »
" Yes Valentino Rossi (17 points ahead in seventh position in the general classification) and fabio quartararo (23 points ahead in sixth position) seem to be a bit too far for me, ranked eighth last time in Malaysia, there is still a lot to do this weekend at this circuit which usually attracts one of the biggest crowds in the season and which offers a fantastic atmosphere thanks to its amphitheater stands. »
“Last year the season finale was riddled with rain on race day, and the chaotic conditions saw me drop back to 19th from 10th on the grid at the start. I then moved up to sixth place in just four laps, then crashed in Turn 3 in a race that ultimately saw the red flag. »
“I secured a victory in my last Moto3 start in 2014 in Valencia, while his best result in MotoGP came two years ago when I finished seventh in my last race for the Marc VDS team. MotoGP on a Honda. »
“After 27 laps on Sunday, attention will immediately shift to 2020 before a well-deserved break. I will return to the track in Valencia for a two-day test next week (November 19-20) before finishing the test with another two-day test in Jerez on November 25-26. »
