The day had started badly for Miguel Oliveira, however, since the Portuguese driver had experienced a small technical problem during the first minutes of the first practice session for the British Grand Prix.

But once back on his second bike, the rookie of the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team did not take long to get the measure of the English track before inserting himself between the two official KTMs, in 16th position, 1,9 .XNUMX seconds from the best time of the morning.

Better, much better, Miguel Oliveira even placed himself in the Top 3 from the opening of the second session, before falling out of the Top 10 as his opponents improved.

But in a last effort, and this time having been able to take advantage of his two bikes, Miguel Oliveira achieved a time of 2'00.360 during his 15th lap, equipped with a hard tire at the front and a soft one at the front. the rear.

This places him 8th in the provisional ranking, 3 tenths and 4 places ahead of the two official Austrian machines.

However, number 88 does not get carried away (that's not the type of the house) and knows how to remain lucid and careful...

Miguel Oliveira : “It was a positive day for us. Obviously we came away with a good FP2 in the top 10. We did a good job today understanding the new asphalt and the tires, so it was very interesting to really get to feel this new tarmac. Despite the little problem we had this morning, I was able to do well on every lap. It was just a matter of understanding what our pace could be, but regardless, we know the lap times are going to drop tomorrow, so we have to keep trying to find more speed in order to be in Q2 directly tomorrow morning after FP2.”
