In this British Grand Prix, there was a race within the race. That of winning this twelfth round of the calendar of course, but also that of Jorge Lorenzo against himself. The Mallorcan has come a long way. Between a still weak physical state and a mental state prey to doubts, corroded by pain and risks, Por Fuera had to prove a lot, to Honda, to the paddock and to himself. He gritted his teeth, he reached the finish honorably, and he even took two points. He is therefore to be counted among the victorious of this English weekend!

It’s a Jorge Lorenzo exhausted but legitimately proud of the work accomplished which took stock of his Sunday at Silverstone : " my best session of the meeting was the race, and that's very positive. I thought I would finish last and I was pretty close to Abraham and Syahrin. My whole body hurts, especially my back, but also the rest because I'm not trained. However, it was much better than I expected » assures the Majorcan.

« I thought I might finish a minute or more behind the winner, because all weekend I was three seconds slower than the fastest time. Finishing one minute behind the winner and earning two points is a good reward for a demanding race. I was able to learn more about how to maintain tires and test my fitness, so I'm excited. Now I'm sore, but I will be stronger for the Misano test and again in better physical condition for the Misano race ».

The morale is therefore there. “ You never know how you will end up until you get on your motorcycle, it's not the same as swimming or weight training. It was not the result we wanted, but after two months without getting on the bike and with so many problems, I was able to finish the race and above all I didn't do stupid things that could aggravate the injury ».

« The painkillers and adrenaline helped me cope with the pain. It cost a lot and it was worth it. I did pretty well, I preferred to stay calm at the beginning and let everyone pass to avoid problems. I knew my pace would be last and that the pace I was counting on was on track to reach the end of the race. There was no reason to exaggerate it in the first place ».

He finishes : " this type of injury, according to what those who have suffered it have told me, leaves no consequences, but you never know how it will evolve. Let's hope so and soon I'll be one hundred percent. For the Misano test, I hope I have managed to reduce the current inflammation, I need to be able to push my daily training to get back in shape. In Misano there are a lot of things to try for next year, I'm looking forward to seeing if we find something for braking, because that's where I suffer the most. I worked on the ergonomics, put at best what gives me the most comfort and in that sense it's fine, but I have to work hard to take turns, the bike doesn't give me security, it's very rigid ».
