The British Grand Prix got off to a flying start at Silverstone with a thrilling pre-qualifying session. It was Jorge Martín who set the best time, thus offering a great performance to the Ducati Pramac Team.
The Spanish driver dominated the decisive session for direct entry into Q2 this Saturday, setting a time of 1'57.911. He is ahead Aleix Espargaró on Aprilia and Pecco Bagnaia on Ducati. Jack Miller, still looking for a handlebar for 2025, put in a great performance by placing fifth with his KTM. By Giannantonio, Binder, Casa Particular in Viñales et Bezzecchi follow. As for Marc Marquez, he saves his head by just closing the top 10, the only contingent having the right to enter directly into Q2.
The other drivers will have to fight in Q1 to hope to emerge among the first two drafted with in particular fabio quartararo, John Zarco, Alex Rins, Franco Morbidelli, Alex Marquez et Peter Acosta as well as the two pilots TrackHouse Aprilia, all other representatives Honda.
It should be noted that the Ducatis ofEnea Bastianini et Marco Bezzecchi experienced some problems at the start of the session, with a “smoking” Desmosedici but without leaving a trace of oil on the track. Fortunately, these incidents did not have any major consequences on the progress of the session.
This performance is excellent news for Jorge Martin, which thus confirms its good form at the moment in MotoGP.
