Under gray and cloudy skies with an ambient temperature of 20ºC, the MotoGP race of the British Grand Prix began this Sunday at Silverstone, marked by the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the championship. The 22 drivers sporting vintage decorations lined up on the starting grid, with the exception of Alex Rins, absent after a fall during practice.

The start was given at 14:00 p.m. sharp, under the threat of light rain which intensified the usual tension. Pecco Bagnaia got off to an excellent start, overtaking the pole sitter Aleix Espargaró who fell to fourth position, ahead of Enea Bastianini et George Martin. Raul fernandez et Miguel Oliveira were involved in a fall on the first lap, while Brad Binder encountered problems initially.

bagnaia bring the race with confidence, escorted by his teammate bastianini, who then made an error allowing Martin to move into second position. bastianini, less competitive than the day before, was quickly overtaken by I will espargaro and threatened by Marc Marquez.

The rhythm of bagnaia was high, quickly setting a record for fastest lap despite the raindrops. Martin stuck to his wheel, opening a gap on I will espargaro in third position. The race then went through a calmer phase, with no major changes among the top five.

Fabio DiGiannantonio made a nice comeback, surpassing Peter Acosta et Alex Marquez to move up to sixth position, reducing the gap with Marc Marquez. I will espargaro, unable to catch up Martin, saw the distance increase to 1,1 seconds after the halfway point. bastianini et Marc Marquez, both faster, began to threaten him.

bastianini exceeded I will espargaro in the 11th round, placing third. Simultaneously, Martin attacked bagnaia, taking the lead in the race for the first time. Encouraged by this lead, Martin maintained his pace, but bastianini took advantage of an error bagnaia to move into second position.

Martin tried to widen the gap, but bastianini quickly closed in, making the fight for victory intense. Marc Marquez, for his part, took fourth place at I will espargaro five laps from the end.

In the last laps, bagnaia lost ground, unable to keep pace with the leaders. bastianini capitalized on an error Martin to take the lead on the penultimate lap, securing a resounding victory. He took his second victory of the weekend, after Saturday's Sprint.

Martin finished second, regaining the lead in the championship with 241 points, followed by bagnaia (238 points) and bastianini (192 points). Marc Marquez finished at the foot of the podium, just one second behind bagnaia. Di Giannantonio, Espargaró, Alex Marquez, Bezzecchi, Acosta et Morbidely completed the top 10.

Silverstone saw a Jorge Martin regain control of the MotoGP general classification, with only three points ahead of bagnaia.
