Maverick Vinales

Maverick Viñales concluded the first day of the British Grand Prix on a positive note. The Aprilia rider set the eighth fastest time in the combined tests, thus securing him a direct place in Q2. An encouraging result which confirms the progress of the Spaniard and his machine.

« I am very happy with this first day" , said Casa Particular in Viñales. “ We have worked hard to develop this new aerodynamic package, and the results are encouraging. The bike is more efficient, and I feel more comfortable."

Indeed, Aprilia took advantage of this test session to test a new fairing, made up of around twenty revised parts. The objective was clear: improve the aerodynamics of the RS-GP24 in order to gain pure performance and reduce tire degradation.

« We have worked a lot on tire management“, continued the Spaniard. “ This is a key element to being competitive throughout the duration of a race. I think we've made good progress on that front.."

With these promising results, Casa Particular in Viñales approaches the rest of the weekend with confidence. “ We have the means to do well in qualifying and in Sprint“, he assured. “ The objective is to start at the front and fight for the podium."

The pilot Aprilia seems to have regained the sensations that he lacked at the start of the season. With an increasingly competitive bike and a determined rider, the Italian team can legitimately hope to achieve new podiums this year.
