VR46 driver Marco Bezzecchi suffered a violent fall on the first lap of the Silverstone Sprint Race after being caught by a losing Granco Morbidelli, raising serious concerns about his participation in the main race scheduled for this Sunday …

During departure, an incident involving Franco Morbidelli et Marco Bezzecchi quickly ended the hopes of the two Italian drivers and members of Valentino Rossi's academy. If Morbidely was able to return to his box after a visit to the medical center, the situation of Bezzecchi is more worrying.

Alessio salucci, sports director of the team VR46, gave reassuring but cautious news on the state of health of his pilot: “ Marco underwent x-rays which fortunately revealed the absence of fracture. However, he suffers severe pain in the right foot. Our doctors are examining him and providing treatment. We hope that the pain will subside, but if it does not, we will be forced to perform a IRM to know more."

« It is still too early to say with certainty whether Marco Bezzecchi will be able to start the Grand Prix on Sunday »

Salucci also mentioned the uncertainty regarding the participation of Bezzecchi to Sunday’s race: “ it is still too early to say with certainty whether he will be able to start. Marco is a fighter, he's used to pain, but the pain he's feeling right now is quite intense. I am a bit worried."

Unlike Bezzecchi, Franco Morbidelli was able to be declared fit to race after medical examinations. The pilot Pramac will therefore be able to start the main race. But he will have to carry out a penalty of “long lap”, having been identified as the person responsible for the carnage by the commissioners.
