Spanish rider Jorge Martin, currently second in the MotoGP championship standings, approaches the British Grand Prix with determination after a well-deserved summer break. His mistake at Sachsenring, which cost him the championship lead, is still fresh in his memory, but he is determined to bounce back on the British circuit.
« The truth is that it was difficult to stop thinking about motorcycles after this mistake at Sachsenring" , entrusts George Martin. “ More I tried to log out and recharge the batteries."
The pilot Pramac Racing also spoke of the difficulties encountered by his team following the announcement of the departure of Ducati : " before there was this continuity with Ducati, at the development and project level, because it was more about of a Pramac-Ducati union. Now this union in the future will no longer be there, that's why I said that we were a little more alone in terms of development."
However, the Martinator remains optimistic about the future and the possible improvements of his bike, since the Sachsenring: “ there was some kind of accident but we didn't know where it came from, now maybe we've analyzed it and can get an idea of what it might be."
Jorge Martin: “ with Bagnaia we are tied in terms of speed, so maybe it's more of a mental problem »
The Spanish driver believes that the loss of the championship lead has more to do with his mistakes than his rival's performance Pecco Bagnaia : " I think I lost leadership more than I gained it. It’s clear he had some incredible races. like Mugello, like Assen, but in Germany I lost it. So I think we're tied in terms of speed, so maybe it's more of a mental issue."
Despite the difficulties encountered, Martin remains confident and determined to fight for the title. Silverstone represents a new opportunity for him to demonstrate all his talent and get back into the championship race.
« I love the track, since my first year as a 'rookie' I was fast“, he emphasizes. “ It's one of my favorites, I really like Silverstone and I can have a good race."
