Spanish driver Jorge Martin confirmed his supremacy on the Silverstone circuit by achieving the best performance during prequalifying for the British Grand Prix. The Pramac driver set a solid time of 1'57.911, coming dangerously close to the circuit record of 1'57.767 held by Johann Zarco in 2022.

Martin delivered a true demonstration of force, perfectly mastering his Ducati Desmosedici GP24. He notably succeeded in containing the attacks ofAleix Espargaró, his main rival during this decisive session for a direct entry into Q2. The pilot Aprilia occupied first place before being dethroned by the Spaniard in the final moments of the session.

The Ducati have once again shone, with Pecco Bagnaia completing the podium in third position. Enea Bastianini, despite a complicated start to the session due to an engine problem, managed to finish fourth. Jack Miller, on KTM, also had a good performance, finishing fifth.

Marc Marquez, for his part, had more difficulties. The pilot Gresini Ducati experienced a fall during free practice 1 and did not regain his usual sensations. However, he managed to qualify directly for Q2, but will have to work hard to fight at the front during the race.

The Yamaha , for their part, suffered once again. fabio quartararo et Alex Rins will have to go through Q1 to try to qualify on the second row. THE Honda, with Johann Zarco, Luca Marini, Joan Mir and Takaaki Nakagami, are also experiencing difficulties and seem far from the best.

Ce British Grand Prix promises to be exciting, with a George Martin in great shape and Ducati very competitive. The pursuers will have to give everything to try to dethrone the Spaniard and this qualifying session can give them the opportunity. What will she have in store for us? Before you know it, here is the table that summarizes the facts known so far.

It's back to school day for MotoGP: and it's a return to school taking place in Great Britain: It's 20° in the air and 29° on the track: the sky is overcast, rain could be coming tomorrow for the race…..

For now, we meet for the Q1 session which will feature the 2 fastest drivers who will join their friends already qualified in Q2

Let's go !

15 minutes on the clock...beautiful linen in the running, Zarco, Quartararo, Acosta, Marini, Morbidelli, RFernandez, Nakagami, Mir, Fernandez, AMarquez, Oliveira and Gardner…

It is Morbidely which signs the reference time in 1.59.160s. Acosta answers him and recovers the best time in 1.58.702s. Fernandez achieves the 2nd best time in 1.59.007s.

But that's without counting on the younger Marquez, Alex...He takes the lead in 1.58.861s. But Acosta pushes him back to 2nd place, he takes the reins in 1.58.651s

Back to the pits…5 minutes from the finish…

For now, Acosta and AMarquez would qualify. Zarco 6th, Quartararo 7th

The drivers return to the track, there are 2 minutes remaining.

RFernandez gets the best time in 1.58.608s…but not much because the “shark” recovers the “precious” in 1.58.408s.

AMarquez made his effort and recovered the best time in 1.58.373s. Acosta imitates him in the effort and positions himself 2nd best time in 1.58.408s. They are both qualified for Q2

Q2 session

There are 12 drivers setting out to hunt for pole position…

It was Bagnaia who set the reference time in 1.57.987s. His teammate, Bastianini, responded equally sharply by signing this best time in 1.57.934s. MMarquez, Martin and Espargaro complete this provisional top5

Bagnaia rolls out and takes the track record in 1.57.717s! Bastianini, Martin, Espargaro and MMarquez bring up the rear of this provisional top5 with 6 minutes to go.

A little break at the boxes for all the drivers..

Reprise…

Bagnaia held on with his time of 1.57.717s ahead of Bastainini and Martin.

Vinales Falls

But Espargaro set the best time and the record in 1.57.309s. Yellow flag for the rest of the riders due to the fall of Vinales…the Aprilia rider takes pole!!! Bagnaia, Bastianini, Martin and AMarquez complete this top5.
