Thanks in particular to Marc Márquez's excellent season, Honda won the Manufacturers' Title at the end of the Malaysian Grand Prix and thus became the first manufacturer in history to have so many.

Marc Márquez's victory this Sunday allowed Honda to win the Manufacturers' Title for the 24th time in the premier category. The Spanish Champion, but also his teammate Dani Pedrosa, the LCR Honda team rider, Cal Crutchlow, as well as the EG 0,0 Marc VDS rookie, Franco Morbidelli, contributed to this success. Unfortunately, Tom Lüthi failed to score any points this season and was unable to help his colleagues. However, he still has one race to fix it.

Note that with Jorge Martín's title of World Champion in Moto3, Honda now holds 69 manufacturers' titles, all categories combined, and thus becomes the manufacturer with the most success: 24 in MotoGP/500cc, 6 in 350cc, 19 in 250cc, 18 in Moto3/125cc and 2 in 50cc.

Yoshishige nomura, president of the HRC: “We are very happy with this new Manufacturers’ World Title. Two weeks ago, we had already won the drivers' title thanks to the incredible performance of Marc Márquez. He has been really consistent and fast this year. Today he won again and allowed us to win our seventh MotoGP constructor's title in the last eight seasons, and our third in a row. This is the 24th manufacturer's title in the premier category for us and we thus set a record by becoming the manufacturer with the most titles with 69 trophies in all categories combined. The number of Honda victories is, moreover, unprecedented in the history of racing. Indeed, since April 23, 1961, when Thomas Edward Phillis took the first ever victory for Honda at Montjuïc, our history has been full of success. Including Cal Crutchlow's triumph in Argentina this year, we have 750 victories in all categories. »
