There was a time not very long ago when, once the season was over, the official Honda RC213V de Marc Marquez et Dani Pedrosa were dismantled to throw in the dumpster everything that was not the engine, frame and suspensions.
The magnificent exhausts, true works of art? Yes !
Radiators, triple clamps, plates, handlebars, body parts, wheel axles, clutches, chains, etc., etc., etc. ? Yes, without even mentioning what interests us today, namely the magnesium rims of the RC213V.
This spectacle, of which you only get a glimpse in our cover photo, is a real heartbreaker for any technology enthusiast, as these pieces symbolize the pinnacle of technical know-how, just as it was heartbreaking to know that at its debut in competition, Honda threw some of its factory motorcycles over the rail of the boat supposed to bring them back to Japan, for simple reasons of import taxes. Fortunately, some escaped this sad fate among the fish and are now in private collections in Japan...
But back to the rims of motorcycles Dani Pedrosa.
Honda, seems to have taken a step forward in the protection of this unique heritage and is now offering to acquire some Dani Pedrosa rims from the 2018 season, very nicely presented.
Of course, with 2 front rims and 9 rear rims, we are far from the mark, but it is a first step and this must be underlined.
The rims concerned, signed by Dani Pedrosa and presented in magnificent 25 kilo boxes duly accompanied by certificates of authenticity, are offered for around 2000 euros before the winners are drawn at random on the Internet.
Very beautiful objects, but don't dream, this is a priori reserved for Japanese fans with an address on the Japanese archipelago.
We will therefore soon console ourselves as best we can with a “Spy Attitude” concerning the 2018/2019 rear rims…
