This year Valencia was a land of glory for the leading manufacturer Honda which can boast of having reigned over this 2016 season. A success with a particular flavor for an HRC which had started its campaign in a recognized state of weakness. A satisfaction that keeps you asking for more. This is also what the Tokyo firm did by maintaining its presence in the Grands Prix for five more years.

First the laurels. Honda can boast of being the most sacred manufacturer in all categories combined. Twenty-two constructors' titles in MotoGP/500cc, six constructors' titles in 350cc, nineteen constructors' titles in 250cc, sixteen constructors' titles in Moto3/125cc and two constructors' titles in 50cc.

The brand's first success in a premier Grand Prix category dates back to 1966 in 500cc with an RC181 four-stroke. So half a century ago. This year, the laurels were first picked by four pilots. Marc Marquez which achieved five successes (Argentina, Americas, Germany, Aragón, Japan) Cal Crutchlow which claims two achievements (Czech Republic, Australia) and Pedrosa along with Miller who have won once. The first in San Marino and the second in Assen.

Enough to be in a good position to sign a new five-year partnership with Dorna Sports. This contract aims to represent the interests of manufacturers involved in MotoGP and it was recently initialed by Ducati in November et KTM in September for the same period. The five-year term also hit last June IRTA, or the association of teams.
