Di Giannantonio Hungary

After going through a rough patch for a few racesFabio Di Giannantonio woke up during qualifying in Hungary. Ultimately, he finished second in the Sprint, an incredible result given his recent form and the context. Indeed, this morning, "Diggia" snatched his qualification in Q2 in the final moments of Q1, when all hope seemed lost. Then, in Q2, he managed to climb to third place, alongside Marc Marquez and Marco Bezzecchi on the front row.

Fabio Quartararao's mishap cost Marco Bezzecchi dearly, who had to dismiss. Thus, Di Giannantonio was able to place second, and remained there until the end. « We were close at the start, we know that on these circuits it is easy to make a mistake, especially since we don't do a lot of testing. You have to be careful, but it happens sometimes, luckily everything went well. We try to be consistent in our results, and I'm happy with the changes made to the bike today. We've always struggled on high-grip circuits, but this morning we managed it. » he confided to Sky Sports.

Tomorrow, with twice the distance to cover, the GP promises to be very difficult but Di Giannantonio is not losing hope. “We understand what needs to be done to make changes, but tomorrow the conditions will change, the degradation will be more marked" he continued.

From second place, he was able to admire the driving genius Marc Marquez for a long time. And there, he took a lesson. « Marc is very precise, especially on his trajectories, he never makes a mistake, he always brakes hard, and that makes an incredible difference.. He works to be consistent and he succeeds, they do a great job. When I take the track, I give 100%, but I'm reaching a point where I can't do anything anymore and I need to move up a gear » he concluded.
