This press conference of the Grand Prix from Hungary MotoGP 2025 gathered at Balaton Park Marc Marquez, Peter Acosta et Marco Bezzecchi for their debriefing, after another perfect weekend for the #93 who won the Sprint and the GP for the 7th consecutive time, the 10th this year.

Marco Bezzecchi finished third, securing his fifth podium since joining Aprilia this year, following his victory at Silverstone, his two second places at Assen and Brno, as well as his third place at the Red Bull Ring.

In the championship, he is 4th and is gradually nibbling away at the gap that separates him from Francesco Bagnaia, currently 31 points.

As usual, we report here in full the words of the latter, without the slightest formatting, even if it is translated from English.

(I.e. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the post-race press conference here at Balaton Park for the Michelin Hungarian Grand Prix. We welcome our three podium finishers, starting with Ducati Lenovo Team rider Marc Márquez, who continues his incredible winning streak: now seven consecutive doubles for Marc. Today, he wins at a 22nd different track in MotoGP and already has 23 wins in the 2025 season. Congratulations, Marc! In second place, once again brilliant from the third row, is Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider Pedro Acosta. And completing the podium after these 26 laps is Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing), who takes his third consecutive MotoGP podium, confirming his current great form. Gentlemen, congratulations to all three of you!

🎤 We're back with Marco Bezzecchi from Aprilia Racing. Marco, once again, it's a bit like the Austrian Grand Prix last weekend: a tough Friday, a run through Q1, the front row, then a podium while battling in the first part of the race with Marc. So, not a bad weekend, when you think about it, after what was a pretty complicated few days...
Marco Bezzecchi: “Yes, at the end of the weekend everything was fine, but Friday we started with many, many problems, and it was good to, once again, have a good Saturday with Q1 which was really good, and also the front row which was, I think, the key on this circuit to be able to try at least to fight for the podium. Because my pace was not so good, compared to Austria. I was, I think, a little bit slower. So, to have done this performance, to be honest, I am very happy, and I did my best, so I can't complain.”

🎤 A great start from that front row. There was contact, of course, with Marc in that second corner. Tell us about it from your perspective…
Marco Bezzecchi: “Well, to be honest, I tried to pass Marc in the first corner and then I saw that he saw me and he eased off the brakes a little bit. But this corner is very tight, so I just tried to focus on the exit. And when I found myself in front, I just tried to close the line a little bit. But to be honest, I was just a little bit slower in Turn 2. I was taking the corner, I was approaching the corner, in a different way compared to Marc and I saw very well when he passed me. I was trying to force more on the entry, stop more in the middle and then force on the exit. But he was faster and smoother in the middle of the corner, so that's it. I just felt a little contact, but in the end for me, it wasn't a problem, and luckily, everything went well.”

🎤 You were super strong in the first few laps. Then there was a fight with Marc for the lead, but once he made the pass, he was able to pull away very, very quickly. He said he was just very smooth today. He felt very, very comfortable. What was the difference? Did you think yourself when he passed you that he looked very, very comfortable?
Marco Bezzecchi: “I don’t know how he felt at that moment. I know now that he says that, but at the end, for me, it was a problem for a few laps already, because I realized that on the left side, my rear tire was already finished. The problem was that I needed the soft one to stop the bike better, so when I saw on the panel that Marc had passed Franky, I had 0.8 and I knew he could catch me quite easily. So, within a few laps, he was behind me, and I just tried to fight at the end as much as I could, but I knew he was stronger. To be honest, I didn’t expect to lose a position so much to Pedro, but when he passed me, he too was really, really strong. So, yeah, in the end, I just tried to take that podium, and that’s it.”

🎤 It was more or less the same as in Austria last week. You had a very, very good start and led the race for quite a few laps. But in the last few laps, you were a bit too slow. Can you maybe tell us what you're still missing in this final phase?
Marco Bezzecchi: “Well, to be honest, here, compared to Austria, yes, it's true that from the outside the race was really similar. But in the end, the problem was that in Austria I managed, I think, well, and I was a little bit more in control and I felt my bike a little bit better compared to here. But in Austria, I had some problems at the end, and here unfortunately I just didn't have the pace of the whole weekend. So already to find myself leading the race for, I don't know how many laps, six, seven, I don't know, anyway it was already something I didn't expect at all. So I just tried not to push too hard when I was in front, but I knew they were coming, especially Marc, obviously. But yeah, we still have to find a way to… let's say, have a perfect weekend or a decent weekend, every day.” Because when you have to catch up from Friday to Saturday, you also have to focus on qualifying, so you don't work too much on race pace. And Marc makes the difference because he's always in the right place at the right time, always ready for the time attack, but also always ready to work on the pace. And Pedro too, this Friday, was very good on the pace. So apart from qualifying, he knew he could be fast. So that's what we're missing right now. But finishing a weekend that started badly like that is always good."

(I.e. Could you say something about Jorge Martin, the “Martinator”? He's currently fourth, very close to the podium. What do you think?
Marco Bezzecchi: "Very, very happy for Jorge Martin, Martinator. In the end, we all knew he could be fast. I've been with him for a lot of time and it's incredible how much he works for everything. So very, very happy for him."

🎤 What do you think you need to do to get your first win? Work on your mental side or is it related to the bike?
Marco Bezzecchi: “Well, mentally, of course, we just have to keep going. In the end, we have to not give up and keep giving our all, in every detail, in every aspect. As for the bike, in the end, we can say that it's already at a good level. Of course, the Ducatis, but also the KTMs, have done something incredible. There are circuits where we're maybe a little closer, and others where we're a little further away. But overall, what we're missing is always the same thing. So, let's try to keep going with the whole team, with the engineers, to reduce this gap, especially at the end of the race.”

🎤 Marco, why did you keep your bottle closed?
Marco Bezzecchi: "No, no, I opened it. It's a new one (laughs)."

(I.e. You're getting closer and closer to Pecco in the championship standings. Do you think you can catch him? And if so, would that third place in the standings be more valuable than it was two years ago?
Marco Bezzecchi: “To be honest, I never really care about the standings. Obviously, every race, maybe at the end, when you come home, you look at the situation. But right now, that's not my main goal. Of course, if I can finish third, it will be better. But I'm focused on improving the bike and building a solid base for next season, and also continuing this season that's going well at the moment. So yes, those two things are my main goals.”
