This press conference of the Grand Prix from Hungary MotoGP 2025 gathered at Balaton Park Marc Marquez, Peter Acosta et Marco Bezzecchi for their debriefing, after another perfect weekend for the #93 who won the Sprint and the GP for the 7th consecutive time, the 10th this year.
Peter Acosta finished second, thus signing his best MotoGP result since second place in Indonesia last year. This is his seventh podium in the premier class and its second of the season, after his third place in Brno.
In the championship, now 5th, he slightly detached himself from the duo Franco Morbidelli _ Fabio Di Giannantonio, 33 points behind Marco Bezzecchi.
As usual, we report here in full the words of the latter, without the slightest formatting, even if it is translated from English.
(I.e. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the post-race press conference here at Balaton Park for the Michelin Hungarian Grand Prix. We welcome our three podium finishers, starting with Ducati Lenovo Team rider Marc Márquez, who continues his incredible winning streak: now seven consecutive doubles for Marc. Today, he wins at a 22nd different track in MotoGP and already has 23 wins in the 2025 season. Congratulations, Marc! In second place, once again brilliant from the third row, is Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider Pedro Acosta. And completing the podium after these 26 laps is Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing), who takes his third consecutive MotoGP podium, confirming his current great form. Gentlemen, congratulations to all three of you!
🎤 Pedro, you took a fantastic second place from the third row with the KTM Red Bull Factory Racing. We felt like you had the potential all weekend to achieve the race you did today. After a rather complicated Saturday for you and the team, you must be really happy to have achieved this goal today…
Pedro Acosta: "Yeah, I mean, on Friday everything looked pretty easy, and then Saturday was a complete disaster, you know. That's why sometimes I have to calm down a bit and try to ensure a decent result, because I think on this track, starting far from the front row in qualifying was more of a handicap than elsewhere.
So we have to be happy, especially since the mechanics had to prepare two new bikes after my two crashes on Friday and Saturday. I lacked a bit of speed in my battle with Martín. But we managed some nice overtaking moves on Franco and also on Marco. It was pretty decent.
It's true that I think we managed the race well. I lacked a bit of experience, as I said, on Saturday, to avoid creating the mess I did. But despite everything, I think we have to be happy with our weekend and the way KTM is improving with each race."
🎤 Pedro, you say you're improving with every race. Since the summer break, you've been fast and competitive in Brno, Austria, and now here in Hungary. Do you feel like you've made a real breakthrough, and that you're perhaps getting closer to fighting for victory with Marc soon?
Pedro Acosta: “I mean… fingers crossed, but ultimately Marc is very strong at the moment. We shouldn’t have too many expectations, because for now this fairing is working quite well, but we haven’t seen its “dark” side yet. For that, we have to stay calm: there will be better races, maybe more difficult ones, but we have to stay quite calm for now.”
“No expectations. We need to be calm at the moment” – @37_pedroacosta 🎙️
Fingers crossed for more success, but Pedro opts for a calm approach for the near future 🤞#HungarianGP (I.e. pic.twitter.com/hBdWTeuhMD

🎤 Pedro, we just saw a very nice moment after the race. Yesterday in Q2, there was a scary incident with your crash at Turn 8, where your bike scared one of our cameramen, Jawa. You met him last night, invited him to the pits, gave him a signed slider, and again today, you took the time to think of him during your deceleration lap.
Pedro Acosta: “Yeah, I mean… it wasn't nice to see my bike hit a cameraman, especially since he was quite high up. But anyway, I think that before we're riders, we're people. For that, it was really great to meet him yesterday and also to stop and say hello.”

🎤 We thought it would be very difficult, almost impossible, to overtake on this circuit. Yet you both managed to overtake to gain your positions. Does MotoGP have a place at Balaton Park? Is it a good track for racing?
Pedro Acosta: “Well, you have to have different tracks, like Marc said. It's true that the only negative point I can point out is that when Bastianini fell today in Turn 12-13, he crossed the track quite easily. For me, that's the only downside. But yeah, I mean, it's not on every circuit that it's easy to overtake, like for example at the Sachsenring. It's not the first track where it's difficult. For that, you have to be a little bit faster than the driver in front of you, but it's still possible to overtake.”
(I.e. After yesterday's departure, did you discuss the departures, the things you could do differently? Because obviously, no one would want to relive chaos like yesterday...
Pedro Acosta: “I think today everyone was calmer than yesterday. In the end, when there's a big braking point like this, you always try to overtake, because if you manage to take a rider a bit wide, it's easier to gain a position, you know? But I think today everyone was calmer and we left a bit more space.”
(I.e. Could you say something about Jorge Martin, the “Martinator”? He's currently fourth, very close to the podium. What do you think?
Pedro Acosta: "I think he's the one who worked the hardest to come back as quickly as possible, you know. Aprilia, I think it's also the brand that made the biggest leap between last year and this year. For that reason, it was only a matter of time before he started getting on the podium."
🎤 Pedro, it feels like you've settled into the team. You're more focused now. Where do you expect to get your first win, and what do you think it will take?
Pedro Acosta: “Well, for now, we're still missing a real full weekend. In the end, here on Friday we were super fast, but then I messed it up in qualifying on Saturday. I think that's the kind of thing I need to improve on, to be really consistent, let's say, because now we're finding a way to always be in the top five. But if you spend the whole weekend in the top five and then in qualifying you make a big mistake, it becomes harder and harder to come back. Because in the last two or three Grands Prix, since Brno, I've been making good comebacks, but you can't always believe that a comeback is going to save your weekend, you know. So now we need to see how to manage qualifying better and how to start further ahead, because Marco, I think, wins a lot on Saturday: he's always on the front row and he takes a step forward in qualifying.”
🎤 Pedro, since Brno you've been much better than at the beginning of the season. In what ways is KTM getting closer to Ducati now, or is it just you who's adapted better to your bike?
Pedro Acosta: “I mean, the team is working super hard. I wouldn't say since Brno, but after Austria, the aerodynamic update they gave us helped a lot, because now the bike is calmer, slightly easier to ride. Of course, the problem was that we had more room to make mistakes. Before, the slightest misstep would send you to the ground, you know. For that, now we're improving, we have more room to maneuver, and our set-up has become better in the last few weekends. It's true that it's still missing, as I say, for me to be a little bit calmer for my part, and also to try to manage qualifying better. But we're improving, not as good as them yet, but we're improving.”
