Marc Marquez qualified on pole in Hungary for the 74th time in MotoGP, his first pole position since the German GP earlier this year and his eighth so far in 2025.
He has won his 13st victory in Tissot Sprint this year and its 14th in total. He now has two fewer Sprint wins than Jorge Martin, who has the most with 16. He leads the world championship with 430 points, now 152 points ahead of his brother Alex.
He brought his record number of wins to 13 in Sprint in one season (the previous record was George Martin with nine in 2023). This is his seventh consecutive victory in Sprint, extending his own record of six set this year (from Buriram to Le Mans).

Balaton would be the 22nd different circuit where he has raced in MotoGP and won. The MotoGP record is held by Mick doohan with 24 points, ahead Valentino Rossi (23)
Marco Bezzecchi qualified second, via Q1 as in Austria when he took pole, for his second best qualifying result so far this year after that pole last time out.
