Marco Bezzecchi Hungary

Marco Bezzecchi, who struggled yesterday, was able to turn things around this Saturday and take second place on the grid, which surprised even himself.

Since the start of the season, Marco Bezzecchi has often struggled to automatically qualify for Q2 on Fridays. Things seemed to have improved over the past four Grands Prix, with the Italian even taking pole position in Austria last weekend. However, this Friday, he struggled again and finished 12th in Practice.

Despite some adjustments, he admitted that he mainly changed his mindset by trying to get the best out of his Aprilia without changing anything else, and it paid off. After finishing fifth in FP2 this morning, he set the fastest time in Q1 and was able to take part in Q2. It didn't start in the best way, as he went through the gravel twice.

At the start of the last run, Bezzecchi was still 12th and last in the session, but went on to get the second time, at a little less than three tenths of Marc MárquezA performance that surprised even him, but which places him ideally for the race, Balaton Park being renowned for its difficult overtaking.

"We really had to work hard between yesterday and today. Even this morning I didn't feel great, but I decided to stop working on the bike. I tried to adapt and I think that was the key because I started riding better, with more calm.", he declared hot on the microphone of MotoGP.com.

"The changes we made between last night and this morning were a little better, but they were enough to help me adapt to the bike. Already in Q1 I felt good and I knew I could be fast. Honestly, I didn't expect to be on the front row, but in the end, once there, I fought hard and got that second place, which is very important."
