Dan Rossomondo

The rumor was almost correct about the new commercial director of Dorna, except for the name which is not Freiman but Rossomondo. Phonetically, it sticks more to the motorcycle Grand Prix with some evocations, but it is indeed a war attack made on the posh NBA. He was most recently senior vice president of global partnerships and media at the National Basketball Association. He arrives to lead the media rights, global commercial partnerships and digital business teams, with the aim of fueling MotoGP's continued international audience and revenue growth. Needless to say, it will be eagerly awaited...

It's a leader in the fields of sponsorship, media, global attractions, licensing and retail that are coming to Dorna. His address book is also extensive, having overseen sales relationships with Walt Disney and Warner Media Discovery, as well as with rights holders around the world for the NBA.

Here is his first speech: “ MotoGP is truly a global sport that combines technological innovation with athletic ability and rider skill. They are the heroes of the show and the sport is spectacular to watch. Right now, MotoGP is perfectly positioned to cultivate its current fan base while attracting new audiences, with incredible opportunity to push boundaries and seize new opportunities. It's fast-paced and the passion of the drivers, the people in the paddock and the millions of fans of this sport is something special. When I met Carmelo, Enrique and Carlos, our views on sports and business quickly aligned. I'm really excited to take on the role ».

Carmelo Ezpeleta added : " we couldn't be happier to welcome Dan. It's part of a truly new era, not only on the track, as we enjoy the greatest season of MotoGP, but also behind the scenes and within Dorna. MotoGP is a global property, with millions of fans around the world, and welcoming Dan to the company further identifies us globally. He brings a fresh perspective, and demonstrates that we have an experienced and diverse team responsible for making this sport the biggest and best it can be. We want to continue the incredible trajectory we have already started, and Dan will be an incredible ally ».

He adds : " Dan's vision for the commercial future of MotoGP aligns perfectly with our views: new ideas, increased reach and a commitment to taking the sport to new heights. At the helm, I am confident that he will provide existing partners with the best possible results and relationships, and at the same time strive to seek new like-minded media, marketing and licensing partners. We know that Dan can bring a lot to Dorna and our biggest category, MotoGP, and on a personal level we are also very much looking forward to working with him. We are very excited to start this new chapter ».
