Fabio Di Giannantonio Indonesia

Fabio Di Giannantonio was angry with his teammate Franco Morbidelli at the finish of the sprint race, considering his maneuvers “stupid”.

Fabio DiGiannantonio had a difficult start to the Grand Prix in Indonesia, and began to right the ship this Saturday. Ranked outside the top 10 yesterday, he had to go through Q1 this morning, like three other Ducati riders. The representatives of the Italian brand are in difficulty this weekend, except for the two Gresini teammates.

By Giannantonio managed to escape Q1 by finishing first in the session, but he could do no better than 11th in Q2. After a decent start in the sprint race, he gradually climbed the rankings to eighth place, and fought hard against Marc Márquez, Brad Binder and Franco Morbidelli. Finally ninth at the finish, he gained a place due to Luca Marini's penalty, but did not hide his anger towards his teammate at the finish.

"I think we had the pace to be a little further ahead in terms of positions. Unfortunately, my teammate ruined one of my races again with stupid overtaking. We're teammates, so it's 100% certain that the team will make us talk.", he said, adding that he had not yet had the opportunity to speak to Morbidelli before coming to address the media.

However, the VR46 driver remains positive about the progress made after his difficult start to the weekend. "I'm really happy with the progress we made this morning, the bike was working really well. We have to be satisfied because in the end we had the potential to do a good job. So, for tomorrow too, my goal is to continue to improve and be further ahead.", he added.

We will obviously have to deal with the lack of grip on the track, but By Giannantonio is not overly worried after the changes made to his motorcycle in this direction: "Certainly, this circuit has a low level of grip. Last year it was okay, but this year it seems like the grip is less good. So we simply changed the balance of the bike to improve the rear grip."
