What a phenomenal race from Marco Bezzecchi in Indonesia this Saturday! The Italian, quite largely superior to the other drivers on the Mandalika track, first distinguished himself in qualifying with a magnificent pole position early in the day. Then, in the Sprint, victory seemed out of reach after a very poor start, which saw him fall to eighth position at the end of the first sector. Then, he moved up, place by place, until he overtook the leader Fermin Aldeguer on the last lap. What an XXL performance!
The “Bez”, still as charismatic as ever, was jubilant at the finish. « At first I was quite desperate with this problem at first, but I didn't give upI didn't think I'd catch Fermin Aldeguer, but I told myself I shouldn't give up. I was aggressive going into the corner, but everything went well. The battle in the last sectors was superb; I did everything to try my luck » he declared for Sky Sports.

The lights out were particularly difficult for the official Aprilia, overtaken by seven riders in just a few corners. « I don't know what happened at first.When I released the clutch, the bike moved too slowly compared to what it should have. We will try to analyze that for tomorrow." added the main person concerned.

Despite this exceptional victory, Marco Bezzecchi's goal is to do at least as well tomorrow, as he has so far won "only one" Grand Prix since the start of the season, and this is thanks to Fabio Quartararo's mechanical failure at Silverstone. « We're working well; the guys here have been really goodWe have to stay focused and analyze the data, because we don't know what to do with the tires yet. We're enjoying the moment, but we'll get back to work soon." he concluded.
