The Indonesian Grand Prix turned into a nightmare for Aleix Espargaró. Involved in a pile-up on the first lap, the Aprilia rider saw his race end prematurely, after Jack Miller, who fell at Turn 3, took him down with him, Alex Marquez and Luca Marini. Although no one was injured, Espargaró did not hide his frustration, expressing his incomprehension at the lack of sanctions against Miller.
« It's not ideal. We've been unlucky all weekend, we never regained competitiveness. We changed a lot on the bike. But unfortunately I couldn't try because Jack fell and knocked over three riders. " Espargaró told Manuel Pecino on motosan after the incident.
The panel of stewards deemed the accident a racing incident, but that was not enough to reassure the Spaniard: " I don't blame Jack. It can happen, especially in the first round.
