What a race from Fabio Quartararo in Indonesia! Just one day after his disappointment during the Sprint, the Frenchman reacted in the best possible way with a more than impressive performance. Starting sixth, he initially lost positions, before getting back into the rhythm and returning to seventh place. Even if he also benefited from the retirements in front of him, his Grand Prix is nonetheless very solid. The good momentum continues for "El Diablo".
Once again, the start was problematic; or rather, the moments after the lights went out. In the first laps, the Yamaha was trapped. « As usual, we can't warm up the tires.. I couldn't turn, I couldn't put the angle. I even had to cut turn 7, so I left a second to avoid a long lap and I lost four positions. The pace was good, but it's complicated to get by in such conditions. » he said to the microphones of Canal + at the arrival.

However, the rest of his race was just magnificent. Although not targeted by the international achievement, Fabio Quartararo was in the same time as Jorge Martin and Pedro Acosta two thirds of the way through the race. Once again, this problem of tire heating. « It took me more than eight laps to get them up to temperature.. We don't know why. We need to find a solution quickly because it doesn't help to build confidence, and on just wastes too much time at the start » he added. Still, it is his fourth seventh place this season, and the third in a row.
Of course, even a competitor of his caliber cannot hide his enthusiasm. « It's still much better. I can brake so late when I'm all alone. We'll have to see what we can do in Japan, on a circuit where there's a lot of acceleration, and we're a little behind on that point. We're working on it, and we're going to try to find an improvement. For this weekend, I would still give it 8/10. We performed well » he concluded.
