The Indonesian Grand Prix in Mandalika was indeed a chaotic race, marked by multiple incidents and a high retirement rate. Only twelve riders crossed the finish line, an unusually low number for a MotoGP race. In addition, three of them, including Pedro Acosta, Brad Binder and Takaaki Nakagami, could be penalized due to non-compliant tire pressures. If these sanctions are confirmed, it could radically change the final standings.

One of the major consequences of these possible penalties would be the rise on the podium of Franco Morbidelli, who finished fourth. It would be his first podium with Ducati. Maverick Vinales, best representative ofAprilia, finished sixth, and Johann zarcoOn Honda, could see his ninth place turn into seventh, giving Honda its best result of the season.

fabio quartararo, after a difficult start to the race, found his rhythm again and finished seventh, a position that could improve if sanctions are imposed. For his part, alex rins, despite a complicated race, finished twelfth, the last place of the drivers to cross the finish line.

A pending ranking which could strongly impact the championship

The start of the race was particularly dramatic with an accident involving Jack Miller, Aleix Espargaro, Alex Marquez et Luca marini, all forced to abandon. Fabio DiGiannantonio, after a great battle with Marc Marquez, also fell, just like Augusto Fernandez et Joan Mir.

Regarding Pecco Bagnaia, his possible second place would allow him to reduce his gap with George Martin in the general classification. If the sanctions are applied, bagnaia could thus collect four additional points, further complicating the task of Martin in the title race MotoGP.

This eventful race could well be a turning point in the championship, depending on the upcoming decisions regarding these tire pressures.
