Francesco Bagnaia did not hide his dismay after a nightmarish Grand Prix where he made a mistake by finishing last.
Francis Bagnaia undoubtedly experienced his worst Grand Prix of the season, and perhaps even of his career. He seemed to have finally found solutions in Japan last weekend, having largely dominated by not leaving a crumb to his rivals. But at the Indonesian GP, the difficulties returned, and the situation was worse than ever. Qualifying in 16th position, he finished last in the sprint race yesterday, 13 seconds behind the second-to-last.
An incomprehensible situation that nevertheless happened again today, only worse. The two-time World Champion finished the race in last place before crashing on the seventh lap.

Absent from the media briefing for his debriefing, he spoke through an audio file transmitted by his team, and did not hide his dismay. "I want to apologize to the team for the crash. I was attacking, even though I was a second and a half slower than the leaders, I wanted to catch up with the second-to-last and I fell.", did he declare.
"I'm very disappointed with this Grand Prix after what happened last weekend where I took pole position and won both races. This track has never been easy for me, but in the past I've had good results. I arrived here and I didn't have the same feeling as I did at Motegi. I couldn't push, I just struggled."
"We don't have an answer to what happened this weekend. We'll look at the data and the engineers will try to find a solution for the next Grands Prix so we can fight for third place in the championship."

It's a dark day for the official Ducati team, which finds itself with its two riders on the ground, including Marc Márquez who was injuredThis is the first time that neither representative has crossed the finish line since the 2022 season opened in Qatar.
