Pedro Acosta did not disgrace himself in Indonesia. While he looked like he was losing after being forced to let Fermin Aldeguer pass, the Spaniard fought, again and again; he clung to his position as if his life depended on it. And finally, in the end, he secured a well-deserved second place. This result is all the more impressive given that he is the only one to find speed on the KTM RC16 these days. Clearly, he has nothing to be ashamed of.
His former Moto2 rival, Fermin Aldeguer, would eventually win MotoGP before him. But in truth, the situation is not comparable. He recounts his race: « We did exactly what we plannedWe got off to a good start and were in the lead. We have to be happy with the weekend. After yesterday's race and the shoulder pain, it wasn't easy. When I was riding right behind the others, the front tire pressure was too high. When I was alone, it was too low. » could we read in the columns of speedweek.

Acosta knows KTM still has room for improvement, but he's already happy with what he has. His approach has completely changed since the start of the season. « We still need to work to better harmonize our packageAs a driver, I also have to keep working. I want to improve and make fewer mistakes. But I would say I'm more mature now. I'm not making the rookie mistakes I did at the beginning of the season. I'm not thinking about winning right now; I know it won't be easy. KTM is progressing: we can more or less regularly fight for the podium, or at least maintain our place in the top 5. That was my goal after the summer break. But we're still one step behind, that's clear." he continued. Wise words.

However, the KTM RC16 is really struggling at the moment. Pedro Acosta thinks he's put his finger on what's wrong. "We lack front-end support. Since the front provides so little information, we have a lot of crashes. KTM is working on it." he concluded.
