Jorge Martin dominated qualifying for the Indonesian Grand Prix, round 15 of the 2024 MotoGP, by taking pole position at the Mandalika International Circuit. The Spanish Pramac Racing rider caused a sensation by setting a lap in 1'29.088, an unmatched time and synonymous with a new track record. For Martin, it is the 19th pole in MotoGP and the 40th of his career, further consolidating his place among the fastest riders on the grid. The performance also marks the 12th pole of the season for Ducati and the 100th in the history of the brand.
In the first line, Marco Bezzecchi, despite a fall at the end of the session, was able to bounce back to finish 0,535 seconds behind Martin. The pilot of the VR46 Racing Team position your Ducati just in front of the KTM RC16 of Peter Acosta, who is the only representative of the Austrian brand to have reached Q2.
The second line is entirely dominated by the Ducati official with Pecco Bagnaia et Enea Bastianini, followed by the Yamaha of fabio quartararo. The differences are minimal, with bagnaia at 0,657 seconds, bastianini at 0,704 seconds, and Quarterly 0,760 seconds from pole.

Johann zarco also distinguished himself by placing his Honda LCR Team in seventh place, its best qualification of the season. It is ahead of the Ducati of Fabio DiGiannantonio et Franco Morbidelli.
Maverick Vinales, Raul Fernandez et Marc Marquez complete the fourth line. The latter had a complicated session, with two successive falls which relegated him to last position among the qualifiers in Q2, also disrupting the fast laps of his competitors.
The long walk back 🚶😅

Behind, Aleix Espargaró, Alex Marquez et alex rins will occupy the fifth line, while Jack Miller, Luca Marini et Takaaki Nakagami are found in the sixth line.
Miguel Oliveira, meanwhile, is out this weekend after a fractured wrist. The Portuguese driver could also miss the Japanese Grand Prix next week.
With an impressive pole position and a record to boot, George Martin is more than ever the favorite for this Sprint and Sunday's race. Ducati seem to have a considerable advantage, but the battle for victory promises to be intense on this technical and demanding track.
