Miguel Oliveira scored a surprise victory in the second round of the 2022 MotoGP, winning at Mandalika ahead of Frenchmen Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco. A success achieved in difficult conditions, while the start of the race was delayed by more than an hour due to a storm which dragged on.

Winner of the inaugural round in Qatar, Enea Bastianini this time encountered much more difficulties throughout the weekend, and finished the race just outside the top 10, in 11th position. The Gresini team driver later returned to his performance to journalists. We transcribe his entire remarks here.

Enea, can you talk about your race in Mandalika?
“I'm honestly not very happy with this race, I would of course have preferred dry conditions. I started very slowly, and as a result I lost positions. But after seven or eight laps I finally found my rhythm and was able to ride faster and regain positions. I then fought for eighth place, but then Brad Binder passed me and I went wide. I'm still the championship leader, but that's not important to me. What I want is to have a better race if similar weather conditions arise next time. »
