Fortunately, all the falls were not serious for his physical condition, even if on Friday he found himself a little bruised after doing several laps on the hard and sharp gravel of Mandalika.

This morning, during the warm-up of the Indonesian Grand Prix, Márquez was quick to notice some grip issues at the rear of his Honda. The Spanish rider initially had to save a trick mid-session, but with just over a minute remaining before the checkered flag, he was brutally catapulted out of his RC213V before hitting the road hard. asphalt of Mandalika, taking a violent blow to the head which left him somewhat dazed.

Seeing Marc get up reassured his team and all the fans, but that didn't stop the team's driver Repsol Honda having to take a helicopter to a nearby hospital to undergo several tests and rule out major head injuries. A few hours later, Márquez returned to the Mandalika circuit and his team confirmed his absence from the race as a precaution.

It is with these words that Dr Angel Charte, medical manager of the championship, explains it: “ Mark is fine. He had a high energy drop in warm-up, which led to head trauma. We first examined him here and then referred him to a hospital in Lombok. There we subjected him to several x-ray tests which were negative. According to the driver and the team, and because this pathology requires an observation period of 12 to 24 hours, we all decided to consider it ».

The eight-time world champion will be able to take the next two weeks off before thinking about the next event in Argentina, which will be held at the Termas de Río Hondo track on the weekend of 2 and 3 April.
