When you are a Ducati rider like Jack Miller, and what's more with official status, you can only express your joy at heading towards the Mugello track. Jack Miller has won the last two Grands Prix successively and he arrives at the Mugello with a contract already renewed as factory driver Ducati. An excellent dynamic which has relaunched him in the race for the title, since he is fourth in the provisional general classification with 16 only points behind leader Quartararo in Yamaha. The Australian 26 years is also behind two other distinguished colleagues who are Johann zarco and his teammate bagnaia, local stage this weekend.

A step which, it must be said, has never succeeded in Jack Miller. In 2013 he finished 10th in the Moto3 race and then in 2014 he crashed while fighting for the lead on the final lap of the same class race, resulting in Alex Marquez et Enea Bastianini in his fall. In 2015 he again failed to score points at Mugello after crashing on the third lap, this time in MotoGP.

In 2016, he was wiped out at the first corner by Baptist, after qualifying in 17th position. In 2017, he scored a point after qualifying in 19th position. In 2018, he qualified in 11th, but crashed during the second round race while in 9th. Finally, in 2019, he qualified in fifth position on the Ducati, but fell from fifth position at turn 5 with eight laps to go…

During the French Grand Prix, Jack Miller took his third MotoGP victory, in addition to the 2016 Dutch TT (on a Honda) and this year's Spanish Grand Prix. These are the first consecutive victories in the premier class for an Australian since Casey Stoner in 2012. At the Italian Grand Prix, Miller will attempt to become the first Australian to achieve three consecutive premier class victories since the same Casey Stoner in 2011.

Miller moved to fourth place on the list of Ducati riders with the most MotoGP podiums behind Casey Stoner (42 podiums), Andrea Dovizioso (40) et Loris Capirossi (23)
