The Italian GP attracted 74 spectators over the three days: compared to 078, the last pre-Covid edition, the loss is substantial. Here are the official figures published by the organizers.

In Mugello, it is time to take stock. The Italians love the circuit, but not only, for an Italian GP open to the public for the first time since 2019. When there was no Covid, an emergency which disrupted the programs for two years in the case of the Tuscan track was an unmissable party weekend that attracted spectators from all over Europe. Last year, MotoGP was again present at Mugello, but this edition is finally the first with fans present. However, we cannot say that the predictions came true...

The 2019-2022 comparison
Let's look at the attendance figures, officially published by Dorna. On the Friday of the GP, the Mugello circuit recorded 10 entries between the stands and the pitch. On Saturday there were 815 people, on Sunday 19. In total, we are talking about 602 attendances for the entire weekend. A sharp drop compared to the pre-Covid period: in 43, the same Italian GP attracted 661 people, a number already 74 lower than the previous year's edition. A less good response from the public than expected, therefore, for one of the two transalpine rounds of MotoGP.

Compared to other Grands Prix
Let's also look at the numbers from the other seven rounds held so far. Worse than Mugello, only the Qatar event saw a total attendance of 17 people over the three days of the GP. More or less half of the record (972) recorded in 32, before the outbreak of the pandemic with all its consequences.
Ahead of Mugello is the Autódromo do Algarve in Portimão with 75 entries in total, while all other GPs have well over 900 spectators. We have 100 entries for the debut at the Mandalika circuit in Indonesia, and we have 000 people present for the Jerez stage.
Termas de Río Hondo is in second place with a total of 186 spectators, the big winner being the French GP. Le Mans was indeed full with no less than 759 people coming to cheer on the boys in the MotoGP world championship!
