Incredible and worrying sign of the times, the Italian Grand Prix which we will see on TV this Sunday at 15:00 p.m. will only be a virtual race. Its 10 actors will play while being confined at home, like us. Blame it on a pandemic. If someone would have told us that a year ago, it would have seemed like a science fiction novel. And yet... So, was it like before? Like that…

Marc Márquez qualified in pole position for the 84th time in his career in a Grand Prix and this is his 56th leading position in the premier category (49,1%), two less than the record held by Mick Doohan ( 58). He also set a new lap record at Mugello. Of his 47 wins in the class, 33 came after qualifying from pole position (70,2%). Furthermore, this is Márquez's second consecutive pole position in 2019. It is also Marc Márquez's second pole position at the Mugello circuit in the premier category with that of 2014, when he achieved his only victory in the category on this track.

fabio quartararo ranks second on the grid as the best independent team rider and best beginner. This is the second time that Quarterly starts from the first row in the premier category of the Grand Prix. The other occasion was his pole position at Jerez. He promises to be the great rival of the official Honda in the race.

Will we be entitled to a duel between two generations that we hope will be without incident? Before you know it, here are the references available with the table going well.

Danilo Petrucci qualified in third place. His best result at Mugello is a third place in 2017. Franco Morbidelli is the second Yamaha rider in second place. This is his second best qualifying performance in the premier class following his P2 in Spain earlier this year. Second Ducati rider, Jack Miller starts from the middle of the second line. He qualified for the fifth time this year in the top six.

Cal Crutchlow qualified in sixth place. This is the fourth time he has qualified among the top six in 2019. Third on the grid, Maverick Vinales starts in seventh place. It was his worst qualifying result in the premier class at Mugello since 2015, his rookie season, when he was ninth fastest. The second beginner pilot Francesco Bagnaia qualified in eighth place. This is his best qualifying result since moving to the MotoGP category this year.

Andrea Dovizioso, who is due to compete in his 300th Grand Prix this Sunday, qualified in ninth place. This is the second time this year that he has not qualified among the top six. This is the worst qualifying performance of Dovizioso on the Mugello circuit since his 13th place on the grid in 2016. Andrea Dovizioso set a new FP3 speed record on the Mugello circuit at 356,7 km/h, or almost 99 m/s.

Takaaki Nakagami is leading from the fourth row of the grid, which is only the second time this year that he has failed to make it from the first three rows. Pol Espargaro, who achieved the best result in KTM dry weather free practice with a second place in FP3, qualified in 11th place, representing the best qualifying performance by a KTM rider in the premier class at Mugello.

The Wildcard Michele Pirro, who missed the race last year at Mugello after a heavy fall in FP2, is scheduled for his 100th Grand Prix this Sunday. He completes the fourth row, his worst qualifying result at Mugello since his 15th place on the grid in 2014.
Jorge Lorenzo qualified in 17th place, which is his worst qualifying performance since his 21st performance at Assen in 2017. Valentino Rossi qualified 18th, equaling his worst result in dry conditions in the premier class at the Dutch TT in 2006, when he was injured, and in Aragón last year.

30° in the air and 51° on the track, the sun did what it took to warmly welcome the drivers for 23 laps of the race. Márquez is full hard and Quarterly in hard medium like Red. Petrucci is in full medium like Dovizioso. Morbidely is in full hard.  Zarco is in hard software. It is the only one to take this soft tire as shown in the table below…

The start is given and Quarterly only turns seventh in the first turn controlled by Márquez. Rabat leaves the stands. The Frenchman is even ninth after the lap ahead Morbidely. Crutchlow is second in front Dovizioso et Petrucci. Crutchlow slips fifth overwhelmed by Dovizioso, Miller et Petrucci before the start of the second round. Quarterly is eighth behind Kidneys who gained six places.

Márquez leads after two laps and behind Miller et Petrucci do not give each other gifts under the eyes of Crutchlow. Pol Espargaro is eleventh with the KTM. In front Casa Particular in Viñales. Lorenzo is fifteenth in front Red et zarco. After three rounds, it's Kidneys who impresses by finishing third. Quarterly is ninth behind bagnaia. He pays dearly for his failed departure.

The good news is that Marc Márquez does not escape. The two official Ducatis stick it and it's Petrucci who takes the hunt into his own hands. He even takes the lead. Behind, Red et Mir get in the way, the Doctor is last. Márquez slips fifth behind Kidneys, Miller, Dovi et petrux. Morbidely fall at turn 15.

Márquez et Miller are polite to each other...

After seven rounds, Red fall and Dovizioso takes the lead. Petrucci et Márquez follow. Kidneys is in the top 5. Quarterly remains ninth. The strategy is taking shape, Dovizioso on your mind, Petrucci must keep Márquez behind, Kidneys wants to take advantage of the situation and Miller wants to do his job for Ducati… The first nine are in 1s2 and the ninth is Quarterly…Nine rounds were covered.  Kidneys take the lead and Petrucci goes second on Dovi...

The mid-race has started with Petrux in control. bagnaia fall. He was sixth. The four leading men no longer attacking each other, take off from the group Miller, Crutchlow, Nakagami et Quarterly. With ten laps to go, Márquez pass Dovi and sets off in pursuit of Petrucci on your mind.

Dovizioso seems more able to contain Kidneys than go looking Márquez... Miller does everything to stay in touch.

Behind, Nakagami pass Crutchlow who sees Quartararo and Casa Particular in Viñales pounce on him... Miller crashed at turn 5 after setting the fastest lap. Victory will therefore be decided by four, with seven rounds remaining. Márquez seems to manage by leaving in front Petrucci, and Casa Particular in Viñales pass Quarterly for seventh place.

Six laps from the goal, Casa Particular in Viñales pass Crutchlow while Quarterly no longer has the rhythm. He will have to defend eighth place against Pirro. zarco is 17th and last… Olive tree is 15th. Pol Espargaro tenth, 12s from the lead.

The last part of the fight has begun. Dovi pass Márquez and even takes the lead. But Petrux does not seem to want to let go of the matter by returning Dovi... Quarterly is ninth, passed by Pirro. Pol Espargaro is his next threat.

Two rounds… The last round begins with Márquez on your mind… Petrucci counter attack… By missing to bring down Dovi ! He's the one who takes the lead Márquez et Dovizioso. Kidneys follows very closely. Nakagami is fifth, Quarterly tenth, Lorenzo thirteenth. zarco last. In the championship, Márquez made the right deal, this Ducati victory will be of no use, on the contrary…
