La first day of this MotoGP Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, located 80 kilometers from the Ducati factory, was characterized by a massive offensive of the productions of Borgo Panigale, quantitative and qualitative, to which only Alex Espargaro was able to resist.

In addition to the fact that there are nine Desmosedici on the starting grid, more than a third of the bikes, the Tuscan route, where they won from 2017 to 2019 with Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Lorenzo and Danilo Petrucci, seems to suit them perfectly with its long, almost straight line of 1141 meters. When in addition Francis Bagnaia serves as a hare to 5 other GP22s and GP21s in the last minutes of FP2, the clear result, 5 Ducatis in the first 6 places, would be enough to make the inflamed Ducatisti blush with pleasure if it were not at the very top of the ranking this cursed Aprilia built near Venice, in a much smaller factory!

For the time being, Alex Espargaro, Francis Bagnaia, Jack Miller, Johann zarco, Luca marini, Enea Bastianini, Brad Binder, Marco Bezzecchi, fabio quartararo et Espargaro Pol are pre-qualified for Q2 and will benefit from this 3-minute FP45 in good conditions to try to preserve this advantage, since, surprise, the weather is still mild this morning and the storms forecast for this afternoon are not have not yet appeared. The Moto3 drivers also took the opportunity to improve their times…

The Gresini team is rewarding us this morning with a unique “United for peace” livery on its Ducatis.

Unique livery also for the helmet Pecco Bagnaia, this time dedicated to the Italian aerial acrobatic patrol.

While waiting to discover more, let's enjoy these few live moments thanks to the official website MotoGP.com at the time when the 26 pilots are preparing with temperatures of 25° in the air and 34° on the ground.

1'45.187 Fabio Quartararo (2021)

When the red lights go out...once again, Fabio Quartararo let everyone go so you can have a clear runway.

In terms of tires, if the mediums obtain the majority, some still use the soft rear from yesterday afternoon at the rear.

The session begins with the track exits of Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi at turn #1. Not really falls, but rather passages in the gravel.

Jack Miller does the same a few seconds later.

Meanwhile, Francis Bagnaia imposes a first reference then Enea Bastianini achieves 1'47.054 at the end of the second flying lap.

In the next passage, Michele Pirro hits the 1'47 mark then Alex Espargaro registered 1'46.906.

Francis Bagnaia finished in the airfences of turn 12 at the end of the first quarter of an hour while alex rins now leads the session in 1'46.885.

At the end of the first run, the hierarchy is composed of Alex Rins, Aleix Espargaro, Michele Pirro, Maverick Vinales, Francesco Bagnaia, Fabio Di AGiannantonio, Brad Binder, Alex Márquez, Enea Bastianini, Takaaki Nakagami, Pol Espargaro, Marc Márquez, Joan Mir, Martin, Luca Marini, Andrea Dovizioso, Fabio Quartararo , Johann Zarco, Remy Gardner, Miguel Oliveira, Darryn Binder, Marco Bezzecchi, Franco Morbidelli, Raul Fernandez, Lorenzo Savadori and Jack Miller who has still not marked the time, but this does not yet bring yesterday's ranking back into play

George Martin makes a mistake at turn 10.

From his “real” departure, Jack Miller is positioned at the top of the session ranking, in 1'46.347 with a soft/soft combination. The Australian is visibly in “attack” mode and stops after two timed laps.

18 minutes from the checkered flag, Maverick Vinales is the first driver to significantly improve: the Catalan is at the top of the session standings in 1'46.121, but also in third place in the combined behind Alex Espargaro et Francis Bagnaia.

So, Alex Espargaro go tell him something... A strategy to snatch pole?

As usual, the last quarter of an hour smells like gunpowder, and it's first of all Francis Bagnaia which makes it slam by setting a 1'45.393, the best time of the weekend!

Johann zarco rises to third position in the session, fabio quartararo in the sixth grade.

7 minutes from the dropping of the flag, Fabio Di Giannantonio positions his Ducati in fourth position, then Takaaki Nakagami hoists his Honda to second place in the session, quickly replaced at this rampart a Luca marini overmotivated.

fabio quartararo, who is no longer in the top 10 combined, takes Marc Márquez in his wheel. Things speed up in the last two minutes and The Devil returns to the top 10, which is not yet the case for Johann zarco.

Like yesterday, the Ducatis are rolling in a bunch and John Zarco recovers fourth position.

The session ends with the fall ofEnea Bastianini and its beautiful “Marquez” decoration in turn 15, then that of Darryn Binder in the same place, which will undoubtedly earn the latter a penalty.

Finally, Francesco Bagnaia, Aleix Espargaro, Luca Marini, Johann Zarco, Marco Bezzecchi, Enea Bastianini, Jorge Martin, Pol Espargaro, Takaaki Nakagami and Fabio Quartararo are pre-qualified for Q2, i.e. no less than six Ducatis in the first 7 places, alone Alex Espargaro and his Aprilia, once again, preventing Borgo Panigale from completely crushing this Grand Prix.

See you at 13:30 p.m. for FP4 and qualifying immediately.
