Aleix Espargarò obtained the best time in the second free practice session of the Italian Grand Prix in the MotoGP category, eighth stage of MotoGP 2022, scheduled for Sunday at the Mugello circuit. The Aprilia rider took the RS-GP to the top with a time of 1'45.891, a time which allowed him to beat the Ducati of Pecco Bagnaia by only 49 thousandths. The two opened up significant gaps with the competition and were the only ones to beat the “wall” of minute and 46.

Jack Miller, third, with the second Factory Team Ducati, is almost half a second behind, exactly 0,422s. The Australian rider is ahead of three other Ducatis, that of the Pramac Team of Johann zarco, who fell twice without consequences, that of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team of Luca marini and that of the Gresini Team ofEnea Bastianini, winner at Le Mans. Which still gives us six Italian motorcycles in the first six places, an Aprilia RS-GP at the controls followed by 5 Ducatis.

Seventh time for South African KTM Brad Binder, who placed his RC16 ahead of the Ducati Mooney VR46 Racing Team for best rookie, Marco Bezzecchi, eighth and ahead of the world championship leader Fabio Quartararo on Yamaha and the Honda factory of Pol Espargarò.
